Preventing heat stroke is easy:
  • Pay attention to the heat and modify your activities appropriately
  • Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink more fluids
  • Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing
  • Drink plenty of cold fluids and avoid alcoholic drinks

Warning Signs of a heat-related illness include muscle cramps, dilated or constricted pupils, confusion or disorientation, headache, nausea, or vomiting as well.
