(CITY OF SOUTH FULTON, GA – February 20, 2021) – As we work to fulfill our commitment to enhance the quality of life for residents, the City of South Fulton will launch an initiative in District Three during the coming week, Feb. 22-25. We will focus on three key areas – code enforcement, roadside garbage pickup and traffic enforcement. We call the effort Operation Better South Fulton.
Through this operation, we seek to make the roads and highways of our community safer and more attractive for residents and visitors. Our traffic enforcement unit provides highly visible patrols as it enforces Georgia's traffic laws. The goal is to reduce the number of accidents and the severity of injuries. During Operation Better South Fulton, patrols will concentrate on the following roads: • Stonewall Tell • Welcome All • Pullen Lane • Jailette • Old Fairburn • Jones • Washington
At the same time our Public Works Department and the Clean City Crew will clear garbage from the rights of way along these roads. Code enforcement officers will identify property violations, notify owners and set strategies for bringing those properties into compliance. Improving the quality of life in South Fulton is a key goal listed in our 2020-23 strategic plan. We remain steadfastly committed to achieving this goal, along with all others set forth in the plan. And this is just the beginning. We plan similar operations in each of the city’s seven districts.
