The Mayor and Council of the City of South Fulton today announced its intention to increase the 2020 property taxes it will levy this year by 4.03% over the rollback rate. Revenue received from the property tax increase will be allocated for capital improvements, including public safety buildings. Executed during Fiscal Year 2021 (October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021). When the total digest of taxable property is prepared, Georgia law requires that a rollback millage rate must be computed that will produce the same total revenue on the current year’s digest that last year’s millage rate would have produced had no reassessments occurred.
