Holiday Service

Holidays are historically the time when materials are consumed the most at home.  Waste from wrapped gifts to discarded food fill our cans and carts with materials. It is at these times that your solid waste program is needed the most.  For that reason, our solid waste program delays service for holidays just four times per year.

Holidays

  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Thanksgiving Day (the fourth Thursday in November)
  • Christmas (December 25)
  • New Year's Day (January 1)

If your day of service falls on a weekday holiday, service will be pushed back one day. For example, if your regular collection day is Tuesday and that day is one of the observed holidays, your collection will happen the following day on Wednesday, with service pushed back one day through Saturday.  Service will return to the regular schedule on that following Monday.
