Public Affairs and Special Projects
The Department of Public Affairs and Special Projects is committed to providing excellent municipal services to the citizens of South Fulton by communicating the City’s Strategic Vision in a clear, accurate, and consistent voice that engages residents, businesses, news media, and community groups across multiple communication channels. The Department works to integrate various department initiatives into marketing plans by building a cohesive message throughout all marketing and communications efforts thus promoting our vision of One City, One Voice.
The Department focuses on generating positive messages, enhancing and implementing city-wide branding strategies, and public information for all media outlets.
We also act as a clearinghouse for marketing and public affairs services to City departments and provide emergency communications during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activation.
Media Relations
The Department of Public Affairs & Special Projects serves as the City’s spokesperson and coordinates all media requests and responses.
Social Media
The Department of Public Affairs & Special Projects continues to produce engaging content and manages/coordinates content and responses for the City’s various social media sites.
Public Relations
The Department of Public Affairs & Special Projects utilizes the City’s main communication channels to communicate with our citizens about South Fulton’s successful programs and services as well as the overall excellent quality of life in the community.
Marketing
The Department of Public Affairs & Special Projects enhances the City’s media strategy through content creation including marketing materials, informational flyers and signage, and multi-media content in an effort to better engage its residents, property owners, and businesses via a variety of platforms, including but not limited to radio, television, newsletters (both print and email), web streaming and social media.
Emergency Management
The Department of Public Affairs & Special Projects works with public safety officials to coordinate communication and messaging during emergencies.
