Communications and external affairs
The Communications & External Affairs Department is responsible for providing effective communication with residents, city council members, community partners and other stakeholders. We work to promote participation in city programs, gain understanding of city policies and projects, and to develop positive media relations that provide balanced coverage of city issues.
We ensure timely and accurate public information of city operations, projects and policies, council action, crisis/disaster communications, economic vitality initiatives, and awareness campaigns through traditional media, press releases, social media and the internet.
The Communications department, in conjunction with the Human Resources department, conveys organizational information to all City of South Fulton employees. Topics include changes in employee benefits, city compensation systems and policies, significant city projects, staff development and training opportunities.
