South Fulton U
South Fulton U, the city’s citizens academy, educates residents about the operations of their city and provides them with opportunities to take active roles in improving its quality of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the free, 8-week program has been conducted virtually.
“Residents of the City of South Fulton are the ultimate decision-makers when it comes to how our city is managed,” said Mayor William “Bill” Edwards. “South Fulton U is one of the many ways we are connecting with them to provide insight into city operations and policies and build strong relationships that encourage them to be actively involved with their government.”
Classes cover various aspects of city government, including financial operations and budgeting; public safety services; parks and recreation programming and facilities; municipal court operations; public works initiatives; economic development efforts, and communication services.
South Fulton U sessions are held on Monday nights from 6-7:30 p.m. Fall sessions begin in mid-August, with winter sessions added in January when needed.
