School is in session! The City of South Fulton announced the launch of South Fulton U, a virtual, 10-week program offered to citizens to learn about the multiple functions of local government. Starting September 7, it will meet once a week on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Classes will cover various aspects of City government, including:

  • Orientation - Intro to Municipal Government, City History, Meet the Mayor and Council
  • Communication and External Affairs
  • Human Resources / Information Technology
  • Community Development – Code Enforcement
  • Community Development – Zoning, Planning, Parks
  • Recreation and Cultural Affairs
  • Public Safety – Police
  • Public Safety – Fire
  • Municipal Courts
  • Public Works
  • Finance
  • Destination South Fulton

Class Structure

  • Welcome and presentation - 6 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. 
  • Virtual hands-on activity - 6:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.   
  • Closing remarks - 7:30 p.m. 

South Fulton U is free and open to residents 18 years of age and older. Twenty applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents will be able to register for the program on Monday, August 17 at 12 a.m. until Monday, August 31 at 11:59 p.m.
