School is in session! The City of South Fulton announced the launch of South Fulton U, a virtual, 10-week program offered to citizens to learn about the multiple functions of local government. Starting September 7, it will meet once a week on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Classes will cover various aspects of City government, including:
Orientation - Intro to Municipal Government, City History, Meet the Mayor and Council
Communication and External Affairs
Human Resources / Information Technology
Community Development – Code Enforcement
Community Development – Zoning, Planning, Parks
Recreation and Cultural Affairs
Public Safety – Police
Public Safety – Fire
Destination South Fulton
Welcome and presentation - 6 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
Virtual hands-on activity - 6:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Closing remarks - 7:30 p.m.
South Fulton U is free and open to residents 18 years of age and older. Twenty applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents will be able to register for the program on Monday, August 17 at 12 a.m. until Monday, August 31 at 11:59 p.m.
