Members
Composition. The Task Force shall consist of eight (8) members who shall be appointed by the City Council. The Mayor and Councilmembers may each appoint a Task Force member. Task Force members shall be residents of the City and shall serve without compensation. The Task Force may elect officers and adopt such rules for its own guidance and proceedings as may be expedient, not inconsistent with this Resolution and all applicable laws. |
TERMS. The Task Force shall complete its work within six (6) months of the adoption of this Resolution unless extended by the City Council.

Overview
The Street Renaming Committee Task Force is a task force committee established by the City Council on August 24, 2021 to research and review names of streets within the City that may be associated with or linked to the atrocities that occurred during the Civil War and the Confederacy, to work with the community on proposed name changes and present its findings and recommendations for name changes to City Council.
