Members

Composition. Shall consist of up to three City Councilmembers and up to eight citizen members appointed by the Mayor/City Council and who are residents of the city. The Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson shall be selected by the City Council.



TERMS. Each Advisory Board member shall serve a 2-year term commencing from their date of the first meeting. The City Council may remove any Board member at any time with or without cause. Any non-City Council Advisory Board member who fails to attend three consecutive regular meeting shall automatically stand removed.

Overview

The Finance Committee shall review City finance policies governing planning, reporting and internal controls; Assess the City’s long-term and short-term financial objectives, goals and strategies; Review documents pertaining to proposed debt financing, investment portfolio allocations and guidelines; Analyze  the City’s financial and cash position, adherence to the budget, compliance with extramural funding restrictions and allocation of resources toward the accomplishment of its objectives; Assess the City’s audit report and related correspondence from auditors to ensure that follow-up occurs on audit recommendations.
