Alcoholic Beverage Excise Tax

  1. Retailers
  2. Wholesalers

Retailers selling liquor-by-the-drink to the public for on premises consumption in South Fulton are required to collect excise taxes. These excise taxes are required to be remitted to the City on or before the 20th day of each month, for the preceding calendar month, accompanied by a completed Retail Excise Tax Return on Liquor by the Drink form.

When paid on or before the 20th of the month, the retailer may deduct and retain three percent of the first $3,000 of tax and one-half percent of the amount of tax in excess of $3,000 as a vendor’s credit.

Failure to pay by the due date will result in the loss of the vendor’s credit and incur penalties and interest as detailed on the tax return form.
