Captain H. Cotton-Tukes - Special Operations division 

Captain Hattie Cotton-Tukes has been in law enforcement for thirty-eight years. Currently, she serves as Commander of the Community Policing in Special Operations Division (SOD) where she manages the following units: Crime Prevention, Traffic and Park Patrol. 

As Commander, she overseas community initiatives and traffic investigations, and serves as a liaison between the Police Department and the City of South Fulton Residents and Business Owners, as well as a liaison between for the City Council Members and the City Council Legislative Aides. This also includes security assessments for commercial businesses and residential homes; Participation, creation and reactivation of Neighborhood watches and Homeowners Associations as well as the community initiative coordinator for departmental programs (Back to School, G.R.E.A.T).  Captain Tukes also overseas the newly formed Park Ranger Unit.

Captain Tukes attended St. Leo College where she earned her Bachelors in Business Administrative and a minor in Education.  During her time in law enforcement Captain has earned the following:

•    Certification in Crisis Intervention Team from National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

•    Crime Prevention Specialist from Fulton County Academy

•    Instructor Trainer Certification from Fulton County Academy

•    Supervisor Leadership Certification from FBI-LEEDA

•    Executive Leadership Certification from FBI-LEEDA

•    Field Training Officer from Fulton County Academy

Her tireless work serving her community has resulted in Captain Tukes receiving recognition from her community.  In 2019 she awarded Officer Of the Year Award, and the Safe Kid Leadership Award, in 2018 she received the Nikki T Randal Servant Leadership Award, and in 2017 she received the Community Leadership Award.

Captain Tukes is affiliated with the following organizations: Metropol, NOBLE, Red Hatters and Abundant Love.  She also sit as a board member to the following organization: Women of Aviation as Vice President, Safe Kids as a Board Member and President of the HYPU.
