The City of South Fulton Police Department's Asset Forfeiture Unit is a key component of the city's law enforcement efforts to combat major criminal activity by disrupting and dismantling illegal enterprises, depriving criminals of the proceeds of illegal activity, deterring crime and restoring property to victims.
Asset Forfeiture Unit manages a wide array of assets, including real estate, commercial businesses, cash, financial instruments, vehicles, and other tangible property.
The Asset Forfeiture Unit works closely with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office (for seizures under State law), U.S. Attorney's Office and Drug Enforcement Agency (for seizures under Federal and State law). All property seized is done so within applicable departmental policy, Federal and Georgia State law.
