Ethics Panel

A random three-person Ethics Panel will review a single complaint and determine whether there is clear and convincing evidence that a city official or employee has violated the ethics code as listed in the City Charter (as amended on June 30, 2020.) The Ethics Code and Procedures may be viewed here.

A.    The Ethics Panel List shall consist of nine (9) members, with one appointment by the Mayor and one by each member of City Council; and one appointment by the Chief Judge of the City of South Fulton Municipal Court. Each member must be a practicing attorney.

B.    The Ethics Panel shall consist of three randomly selected members from the Ethics Panel List maintained by the City Clerk.

C.    The Ethics Panel shall be constituted for the sole purpose of considering a single ethics complaint and must organize and operate in accordance with the City Charter Section 6-A.5.

D.    Each Ethics Panel member shall be compensated a per diem of $50.00 for each meeting or hearing attended.
