Fulton County adopted the 2035 Comprehensive Plan in 2016. The City of South Fulton is currently in the process of making minor updates to this plan in order to adopt it as our own. The Comprehensive Plan is a guiding document that the Planning and Zoning Division utilizes when reviewing rezoning requests. Click here for the comprehensive plan.
The Campbellton Crossroads Master Plan effort is underway, and we need your help! This master planning effort is a joint, collaborative project between the cities of Chattahoochee Hills and South Fulton. The plan will address land use, transportation and mobility, urban design, historic preservation, and economic development.

CThe City of South Fulton is working with the Atlanta Regional Commission to explore options for improving pedestrian access and safety along Washington Road between Roosevelt Highway and N Commerce Drive. The City of South Fulton and the Atlanta Regional Commission are looking for community input on the challenges that residents and users of the Washington Rd corridor face daily walking along the corridor.
This input will then be incorporated into recommendations for the City of South Fulton to use in developing short term transportation projects and longer-term transportation investments along the corridor. The final product is set to be adopted by council at the end of 2020.

In early 2017, the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance (the Alliance) and Aerotropolis Atlanta Community Improvement Districts (AACIDs) completed a comprehensive master plan for multi-use trails in the Aerotropolis Atlanta area that aims to connect the communities around Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
The AeroATL Greenway Plan builds upon the idea proposed in the 2015 Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance Blueprint and a significant amount of public input, considering existing trails, economic, environmental and social constraints, key connection points, safety issues, and best practices.
Now, in 2020, seven jurisdictions have taken the next step towards implementation of that master plan, winning a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to develop site plans and engineering concepts for a model mile in their community. This is the beginning of trail connectivity in the airport area!
