Captain Clarence Flournory joined the South Fulton Police Department at its inception on March 26, 2018. He has served as a law enforcement officer for more than 15 years in various capacities and has promoted through the ranks to the rank of Captain. Currently, he serves as Commander of the Gold Shift within the Field Operations Division (FOD).
Captain Flournory began his law enforcement career as a Police Officer in 2003 with the Fulton County Police Department. He started off as a patrol officer, where he remained for the next three years. He was then transferred to the Special Services Division as a Traffic Investigator/Motor Officer. In this role, he was responsible for all serious injury and fatal accident investigations as well as hit & run investigations. He was a member of the Special Services Division for seven years before being promoted to Field Training Officer (FTO). Captain Flournory helped train all new recruits for the next two years. He also is GA POST certified instructor and played a key role in the training of new motorcycle officers.
Captain Flournory then moved up the ranks to the position of Lieutenant. He was placed in the Field Operations Division (FOD) and served as Lieutenant over a patrol shift. While on patrol, Captain Flournory also managed and implemented all strategies and tactical operations for the FOD Crime Suppression team.
