Captain E. Woods - Field Operations Division (assistant precinct commander)
Captain Ereka Woods joined the South Fulton Police Department at its inception on March 26, 2018. She has served as a law enforcement officer for more than twenty five years in various capacities and has moved through the ranks to the rank of Captain. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Precinct Commander of the Field Operations Division.
Captain Woods began her law enforcement career with the City of Atlanta Police Department in 1994 where she served as a patrol officer and bicycle officer where she enforced Georgia laws and City ordinances.
In 1998, Captain Woods continued her law enforcement career with the Fulton County Police Department. Captain Woods was promoted through the ranks and achieved the rank of Asst. Precinct Commander. Within this role, Captain Woods has oversight over planning, implementation and management of all patrol related operations to include the following unit: Court Services.
Captain Woods held various supervisory roles to include FTO, Lieutenant, and Captain. Captain Woods was assigned to the following units while employed the Fulton County Police Department (Uniform Patrol, Bicycle Unit, Narcotics Unit, Special Services and Internal Affairs) before being promoted to the rank of FTO where she trained new hires. She also sat on several assessment boards for surrounding metro police departments.
Captain Woods attended California University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in 1993. She has obtained several certifications through Georgia POST (Instructor, Supervisory, Motorcycle, Criminal Investigations and FBI-LEEDA) and has obtained over 3,500 hours of advanced Georgia POST related training throughout her career.
